L&D Digital Solutions Intern (m/f/x) – Brussels – MSF Belgium

CONTEXT 

The Learning and Development (L&D) unit aims to develop our workforce acquire the necessary competencies by providing learning opportunities, essential to meet MSF’s operational needs and objectives.

At the heart of our digital learning strategy is Tembo, our Learning Management System (LMS). Tembo provides a comprehensive platform for delivering and managing online training courses, facilitating blended learning, and tracking the progress of our learners. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic L&D Digital Solutions Intern to support the enhancement and optimization of our digital learning environment. 

Main Responsibilities:

Conduct audits and reviews of digital learning courses on the Tembo platform, utilizing provided checklists for:

  • Course Homepage/Overview
  • Inclusive Navigation
  • Learner-Centric Links and Media Strategies

Support the adjustment and enhancement of course design elements, including layout, navigation, and media integration, to align with quality standards and accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1).

Collaborate with the digital learning specialist and other team members to ensure consistency, quality, and accessibility across all digital learning materials.

Assist in the creation and maintenance of documentation related to the digital learning audit process, including reports of findings and recommendations.

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program (e.g., Instructional Design, Educational Technology, UX/UI Design, Multi-media, Digital Media, Information Technology, Education, or related field).

Strong interest in digital learning and instructional design.

Good understanding of e-learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, Totara) and digital content creation.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Competences:

Technical Skills: Familiarity with e-learning platforms, digital content creation tools, and basic HTML/CSS is a plus.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and evaluate digital learning content for quality and effectiveness.

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and propose solutions to improve digital learning content and user experience.

Learning Opportunities:

Gain practical experience in digital learning design and development.

Develop skills in UX/UI analysis and improvement within an educational context.

Learn to apply accessibility standards to digital learning materials.

Work collaboratively with experienced digital learning professionals.

Contribute to meaningful projects that enhance the learning experience for a diverse audience.

Languages

• Fluency in written and spoken English

• French is an asset

CONDITIONS

  • Expected starting date: June

  • Location*: Brussels (Belgium) 

  • *Due to legal administrative constraints, candidates must already be resident in Belgium or have a residence right as a student in Belgium or in the European Union allowing to move and study in the EU and with the willingness to relocate in Belgium at their own costs 

  • Position type: Internship (unpaid) - Registered student with mandatory internship under school/university convention

  • Internship duration: 4 to 6 months

  • Time allocation: possibility to work part-time

  • 100% reimbursement for public transportation costs in Belgium, and 7 EUR/day worked in the office to cover lunch costs
